For me, Childish Gambino was one of the best things to come out of 2011. His debut album, CAMP, is phenomenal, from start to finish, and was the best album to be released on 15th November (sorry Drake). Childish Gambino (the rap alias of Community actor Donald Glover) has defied nearly all of the critics and shown that it is possible for an actor to become a credible musical act, without their musical career becoming a novelty.
'Heartbeat' is definitely my favourite song from CAMP, so when Gambino dropped the video it was a good day. Coming from an acting background, Gambino is very comfortable in front of the camera, unlike a lot of new artists that come onto the music scene. Check the video to 'Heartbeat' below, and I cannot stress enough how much you need to listen to CAMP, it is a real breath of fresh air in the rap scene.
